Saudi Arabia’s Interior Ministry is warning citizens against “disturbing the public peace” during a planned protest organized Saturday by women activists to challenge a ban on female drivers. In a statement carried Wednesday by the state-run Saudi Press Agency, the ministry noted that social networks have called for weekend rallies and marches. “The laws of the Kingdom prohibit activities disturbing the public peace and opening venues to sedition which only serve the senseless, the ill-intentioned, intruders, and opportunity hunters,” the statement said.
